Senior Thesis: In the Making

My senior thesis will be linked with my previous portfolio collection inspired by "Heroism". I will be creating two outfits that will be judged to go on the runway at the end of this semester, which will also be the end of my days in college! Each piece will be made to represent a sporty, chic childrenswear ensemble, complete with wrist bands, gloves, slick leg warmers, and high stand up collars. I am very excited to post and share more pictures of my work in progress. Stay tuned!!!

Rough sketches of the two looks I want to create for my senior thesis! Concept: Futuristic-Heroism. (tough, crime fighting little girls in modern apparel, haha!)
Some notes of extra trims and fabrics I will need.
Look 1 in the making.
I patterned, cut, and sewed the basic pieces for this look for a 5 year old fitting on an adorable model, Laney.
I made minor adjustments on the skirt.

Here I am with another lovely young model, Angelica. She was a smaller fit size 5 :)
A lime green velvet tape added to the interior hem of the shirt for that FLASH OF POP.

Full front view of look : Denim jacket, criss-cross suspenders, long sleeve top, peplum skirt, and sports legging.

LOOK 2: Inspired by boy's wear.
Cut and washed to create these distressed slits.

Added elastic to center back pant. Pocket details with reflective tape and distressed/pleated details.
Remembering how to do the fly front, haha.
Draped, patterned, cut, and added the front zipper

I PASSED JUDGE STAGE 1 AND 2!!!! Praise the Lord! :) My design will be modeled by little Miss Lindsey on the runway.
